Sandra had no idea what was coming when Antonio surprised her with a tech savvy marriage proposal in New York City. Sandra’s love for technology was the inspiration for the multimedia presentation Antonio used to pop the question. In a hotel room overlooking Central Park three large TV monitors were wired to display a slideshow of the couples relationship. When Sandra walked in the room she was overwhelmed by the display, Antonio then handed her a large control to start the multimedia slideshow. The final slide displayed the message “Will You Marry Me”. There in the intimate hotel room Antonio presented his ring and Sandra said yes! The couple celebrated their engagement with a romantic photo shoot in central park. Congratulations Sandra and Antonio.
Wish Upon a Wedding Hosted its Fall 2013 Bridal Market Kickoff Party at the beautiful Prince George Ballroom. As a proud board member of the New York Chapter, it was amazing to see the night come together as top professionals from all areas of the wedding industry gathered to support this wonderful cause. The night included great treats such as fresh hand shucked oysters, delicious whoopie pies, and amazing macarons in a whole assortment of flavors. The night concluded with a short film honoring the couple of the second wish the New York Chapter had granted. If you like to donate for couples in need please visit the Wish Upon a Wedding website or please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Check out the photo below of me and fellow Event Planner Sarah G. as we walked the teal carpet at the party!
Thanks to Roberto Falck for the photo!!
With Central Park as the backdrop, Le Parker Meridien Hotel provided the perfect location for a beautiful breakfast that joined together wedding industry pros with media experts. I’m proud to be a Board Member of Wish Upon a Wedding New York. Wish Upon a Wedding is an organization that makes it possible for couples facing terminal illness or other serious circumstances to have a dream weddings or vow renewal through the generosity of donations from local wedding professionals. With 60 wishes already being granted nationwide, we hosted a breakfast to share our successes and forge new partnerships. We were especially honored to have famed designer Nicole Miller speak about how terminal illness has touched her life and her support for Wish Upon a Wedding. If you’d like to donate to couples in need, please contact email@example.com.

Late-night snacks are the perfect way to treat your guests after a long night of dancing! They can be a sweet nightcap like churros, or milk and cookies – a crunchy antidote to all the alcohol. Or, send them home with coffee and donuts for breakfast the next morning. Prefer something savory? How about mini grilled-cheese sandwiches with tomato soup shooters, bagels and cream cheese or a hot dog cart with all the fixings!
There’s one item on your placesetting that can transport all of your guests immediately back to the 80s: your napkins. Check out these major napkin no-no’s and then run (don’t walk) to your caterer or venue to specify that you do not want anything even remotely resembling a bishop’s hat fold, a fan fold or your napkins stuck into a glass.
You can and should request that they note this on your Banquet Event Order and don’t be shy about sending them a photo of the type of fold you require. A simple, classic choice is the pocket fold or you can go for the (reasonably) idiot-proof long fold shown at bottom left below.
Cheesecake lollipops are the latest trend in decadent desserts. They’re a great addition to a “dessert tapas” table for large-scale events, or as finger food for a baby or bridal shower. For those DIY hosts out there, click on the photo for the step-by-step instructions on how to make your own cheesecake lollipops. Feast your eyes on these!

The creative ladies at 100 Layer Cake have really outdone themselves with using vintage earrings as placecard stands. If my name were Theodore, Camille or Madeline, I’d feel very lucky to sit here. What a glam way to bring in a little mix-and-match sparkle to any tables – bridal shower, baby shower, wedding or dinner party!
If you’re hosting a holiday party this season, Evite’s drink calculator is a must have! Enter in the number of hours your party will last and the guest count and the drink calculator will tell you how much beer, wine and spirits you’ll need.
Extra tip: always buy one extra case of beer or bottle of wine as your ace in hole (or for an after-party drink for yourself!)
