TIPS & SECRETS FROM A NEW YORK CITY PROPOSAL, WEDDING & EVENT PLANNER

Late Night Snacks

Late-night snacks are the perfect way to treat your guests after a long night of dancing! They can be a sweet nightcap like churros, or milk and cookies – a crunchy antidote to all the alcohol. Or, send them home with coffee and donuts for breakfast the next morning. Prefer something savory? How about mini grilled-cheese sandwiches with tomato soup shooters, bagels and cream cheese or a hot dog cart with all the fixings!

Unique Favor Ideas

Photos like these make me think that every wedding should serve ribs just so guests can wear rib bibs! More photos of this delightful wedding here.

Multi-Purpose Program

How about this wonderful multi-purpose program idea that we discovered on Brides? A great way to give your guests a little snack and share the information about your ceremony. We can see this concept being used for all sorts of different foods or even as escort cards instead of programs!

Candy Bar Alternative

Don’t get us wrong, we love a good candy display at any event.  But, we also love the colors and creativity of this Old Fashioned Soda Bar that our friends at Project Wedding came up with! The color and unique design of each bottle really makes for a real eye-catcher and will transport your guests back to when they were kids. Perfect for a large event like a wedding to a smaller, more intimate baby or bridal shower!

We think this would be an amazing idea for escort cards! What guest wouldn’t want to sit at the Orange Crush table or the Dad’s Cream Soda table?

A Wrinkle in Your Gift Bags

When you’re picking out the bag for your Welcome Bags, keep in mind that paper bags will get smashed during transport.  Moving gift bags from one location to another is a lot of work and they will inevitably get banged up and bruised. Even if you personally carry them one-by-one, many times the hotel employees delivering the bags won’t have as much finesse.

Some great, non-smashable options that we’ve used in the past are: reuseable grocery bags, tied handkerchiefs or bandanas and mini beverage coolers. Not only will your gifts arrive to your guests in pristine condition, they’ll also be something they can use in the future as well. And, they can be just as affordable as paper ones!

A Brilliant Wedding: Lorraine & Dave

We couldn’t resist sharing these final shots of Lorraine & Dave’s big day. We brought in the Cold Stone Creamery team to feature an ice cream station…it was a huge hit! Another highlight of the evening was their first dance – a choreographed dance of “New York, New York” mixed with “Dirty Water” that dazzled their guests and really set a fun tone for the evening. And finally, a private moment shared between the newlyweds in the wings of the theater. Congratulations Lorraine & Dave!

A Brilliant Wedding: Lorraine & Dave, Reception

Lorraine & Dave’s reception was a dramatic Spring Soiree filled with shades of salmon and green at the Millennium Broadway’s Hudson Theater.  The garden-inspired centerpieces from Rountree Flowers highlighted blush-colored peonies – an ideal bloom for this spring wedding design!  The escort cards were on a show-stopping bed of pave flowers – a mixture of spider mums, hydrangea and roses. Guests enjoyed a caramel apple favor for their “Big Apple” wedding symbolizing a donation to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering foundation made by the couple. The entire stationery suite was designed by the talented Kayleigh Jankowski and printed by Cards and Pockets and included a hand-drawn rendition of the cathedral and NYC skyline.

We still have one more set of amazing images from this special day, stay tuned!

Library Wedding: Part 3 of 3

Check out these beautiful photos of the feature table that we designed for Molly & Mark’s library wedding! Vintage letterpress blocks, antique typewriter ribbon tins, embossed leather-bound journals (see a close up of them here) wrapped in belly bands with their custom damask design, personalized hexagonal pencils, collected crystal jars and an authentic 1920s typewriter all came together to create an amazing focal point for their guests!

Vintage Library Wedding-Sneak Peek!

We are buzzing with excitement for Molly and Mark’s vintage library wedding this weekend!

So, to give you a sneak peek – here is a picture of their favors: a beautiful, leather-covered journal with their damask wedding logo debossed on the front.  Guests can use the journal to record thoughts, ideas or jot notes like they did back in the 1920s.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Favorite Favors: Party Beans

As we always say, guest favors must have one of the following purposes: something they can eat or something they will use.  These adorable little packages from Party Beans are available in a bunch of different styles (my favorite are the glass jars) and filled with jelly bellys, M&Ms or mints!  Customize the packaging by using a pre-designed logo or by uploading your own photo/art.  And, the coolest part is you can even color coordinate your candy…you can choose up to 2 specific colors to go with your color scheme.  YUM!

Not into candy?  They also do breath strips and toothpicks!
